April News!

1. Deadlines: Members should have paid annual dues of $10.00; ordered $15.00 t-shirt if desired; and ordered honor cord for academic banquet.

2. ISP Hours: Member ISP hours are due at the very latest May 1st. If you are voluteering at Sunshine Saturday, I will accept those hours on May 4. If you are not working Sunshine Saturday, your hours are due by May 1st. Please turn these hours in. If you do not, your membership may be reviewed by the faculty council and you may be dismissed from the chapter. WORDS OF WISDOM!! Bring in your NJHS Service Forms as you complete the hours. Don't wait until the last minute.

3. ISP Opportunities: April in Talladega is looking for volunteers for Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the old Dixon Middle School. Please see Mrs. Armstrong for more information, or call Sylvia Sims at 362-8722. R.L. Young Clean up day is May 1st. Mrs. Laros at Hal Henderson has requested a few chapter members to assist with Earth Day on April 21, 2009. See Mrs. Armstrong if you have any questions or concerns about your ISP.

4. Zora Ellis Interviews: The Zora Ellis Oral History interviews concluded on April 6, 2009. We interviewed students of Miss Ellis' classes of 1933-1968. We thank everyone who helped make this project possible and a great success!

5. ZE Academic Banquet: The academic banquet is May 21, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. The students who are the top 5 students in their academic classes will be honored.

6. 2009 Officer Elections: Officer elections for 2009-2010 school year will be held in May. Please listen for announcements. The 7th grade chapter members will elect President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian.

7. Induction DVD: The DVD from the 2009 Induction Ceremony are here. If you ordered one, make sure you come by and pick it up.
